Clinical Impact: Fertility

Fertility issues affect countless couples across the country. Whether issues stem from genetics, age, or as a result of medical treatments, Magee researchers are working to find an answer.

Fertility research focuses on ovarian biology, the hypothalamic-pituitary-gondal axis, female and male germ cell development, infertility, and restoration of fertility. Through studies and programs within these areas, our researchers hope to help those struggling with infertility.

The Center for Fertility and Reproductive Endocrinology at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC provides the full spectrum of infertility services for women and men. Treatment decisions are made in conjunction with the couple and may include semen analysis, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, and surrogacy. Advanced reproductive technologies, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), donor gametes (sperm and oocytes)and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), are also available.
