There are many disorders of the bladder that impact quality of life for women, especially with aging. An improved understanding of these disorders will not only impact care but also improve communication between patients and their providers.
Megan S. Bradley, MD
Research in Brief
Dr. Bradley’s research is focused on improving quality of life for aging women by refining how common urinary conditions are treated. Her clinical trials evaluate strategies such as whether antibiotics are always necessary for urinary tract infections and how to best dose therapies like Botox for overactive bladder. Her goal is to make treatment safer, more effective, and more personalized for older women.
Current Projects
- Principal Investigator, REDUCTION Trial: Empiric vs expectant management of UTIs in women over 70
- Co-investigator, RELIEF Trial: Comparing Botox dosing (50 vs 100 units) for overactive bladder in women aged 70+
- NIDDK-funded pilot trial: Culture-directed UTI treatment strategies
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-supported study: Urinary incontinence in women with cystic fibrosis
