As a surgeon, I take great pride in educating the next generation... However, as a researcher I remain appalled that the only way we can currently diagnose and treat this crippling disease is by surgery. It is the 21st century - we owe our patients more than this.

Research in Brief
Dr. Donnellan is dedicated to ending delayed diagnoses and unnecessary surgery from chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. Her patient tissue biobank and specialized clinic aim to develop reliable non-surgical diagnostic tests—and provide compassionate, expert care—to end years of suffering for thousands of women.
Current Projects
Partnering with basic scientists on endometriosis projects including:
- Maching based leanring in the detection of endometriosis
- Liquid biopsy diagnostics for endometriosis
- Exploring mast cells and VEGF expression in mouse models of endometriosis
- Leading ongoing biobanking efforts in MIGS/benign gynecology
- Qualitative research focusing on better understanding of multisdisciplinary care in Endo/CPP
