6th Annual Pars for Postpartum Depression

6th Annual Pars for Postpartum Depression

Join us for the 6th Annual Pars for Postpartum Depression Golf Outing on July 31, 2023. Enjoy 18 championship holes and views that take your breath away at Edgewood Country Club. Only 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, Edgewood is a straightforward course. However, factor in the rolling fairways, the bunkers and sometimes, considerable amounts of undulation with the greens and you have the level of difficulty of a competitive course.

The Vehovic Family

The New and Expectant Mother Specialized Treatment program was made possible through funds raised at the Pars for Postpartum Depression golf outing.

New and Expectant Mothers Specialized Treatment (NEST)

Women’s mental health is a vital part of treating the entire woman across her lifespan, a founding goal of Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. UPMC Western Behavioral Health in partnership with UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital offers uniquely designed services in a variety of settings. Our nurses, physicians, therapists, and other clinicians are experts in managing perinatal psychiatric conditions, enabling both mother and baby to have a successful journey.

NEST is a track of the intensive outpatient program (IOP) through UPMC Western Behavioral Health for women who are currently pregnant or up to one year postpartum. This track provides new and expectant mothers with short-term comprehensive treatment including stabilization of acute symptoms and crisis behaviors, medication counseling during pregnancy and lactation, specialized care for mood disorders, and encouragement for the mother-infant bond. We currently have NEST locations in Wexford and in the Southside.

Could you or someone you love benefit from these services? To make a referral, please visit upmc.com/iopphpreferral or call 412.246.5600 to learn more.
