Clinical Trainee Research Award (CTRA)
Program Overview
The MWRI Clinical Trainee Research Award (CTRA) was established to promote education, develop research performance, and enhance the research program of MWRI through training and scientific publications. It provides opportunities for applicants to gain grant-writing experience — from study design and methodology to budget proposal — and funds the research activities of residents and fellows at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. Funding is awarded to support a 12-month research project and is made possible by the generosity of philanthropic donors through Magee-Womens Foundation.
Eligibility
UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital residents and clinical fellows are eligible to apply. Each resident or fellow may submit only one application per 12-month funding period.
Research proposals must be written by applicants under a faculty sponsor and require approval/signature of the Department Chair or Director of the Fellowship/Residency Program.
Curriculum
Award recipients will carry out their proposed studies during the 12-month funding period under the supervision of a faculty sponsor. A final report is required within three months after the end of the award period and must include a final financial report.
